Anadolu parsı olarak bilinen özel “kaplan” türünün bölgemizde görüldüğü son coğrafya olarak bilinen Kaplan köyü, endemik özellikleri ve gastronomisiyle oldukça öne çıkmaktadır. Son yıllarda yayılan foto-kapan görüntüleriyle; anavatanı Anadolu coğrafyası olan bu özel kaplan türünün neslinin tamamen tükenmediği ve tam koordinatları açıklanmayan bir bölgede ürediğinin duyurulması tüm otoriteleri mutlu etmiştir. Kaplan köyünün mührü Anadolu Parsı olarak seçilmiş ve mühür Kaplan köyünün ve bölgenin gastronomisinin tanıtılmasına yıllarca emek vermiş Lütfü Çakır tarafından işletilen Kaplan Dağ Restoran’a takdim edilmiştir.
